In early December Christine from a wonderful wedding website called Bridaltweet.com reached out to 20,000 members of the wedding community and asked, “What are your predictions for 2016 weddings?” Below, are the highlights from the answers that she received. There are some exciting new ideas here!
Naked wedding cakes are expected to be the new thing and I for one am applauding their arrival. I can’t count the number of weddings where I’ve seen dozens of plates of partially eaten cake or plate after plate where the cake has been scraped out of it’s noxious coating and eaten while leaving the thick Marzipan jacket intact. YES they do look wonderful … unfortunately with any food item one would expect taste and texture to ALSO be a consideration.
“With the cost savings of digital invitations, brides are upgrading their invitation stock, linings and embellishments. We have seen a huge increase in this printing method over thermography, letterpress and engraving. By opting for this cost effective printing method, brides are able to upgrade to impressive double thick card stock and embellishments. Multi-color invitations are also more affordable since there are no extra costs for additional colors. Think about the gorgeous handmade papers you can use for layering your invitations and lining your envelopes. The add-ons are endless when you save on the printing costs.”
